Natura e causa dell'architettura teatrale musicale
Abstract
Since the theatrical and instrumental music production of 17 th century, characterized by the first standardization of theatres and concert halls, structural and variable aspects of architectonic acoustics are analyzed according to the nature and disposition of acoustic sources and auditory proxemic.
Particularly, in the historical evolution of concert hall typology (from the Palladio's Olympic Theatre in Vicenza to the Espace de Projection of IRCAM in Paris ) many elements have been selected which allow us to evaluate the normative functions carried out by architectonic structures in defining the composers' stylistic orientation.
In this framework the most important goal of the collaboration between architects and musicians is the construction of an acoustically changeable concert hall properly suited for the fruition of different music styles.
